Diana Nyad, record holder as the greatest long-distance swimmer in history,
is a renowned television and radio broadcaster, adventurer and author.
Diana Nyad is heard by eight million people each week on National Public Radio as a columnist for "All Things Considered" and a sports business reporter for the award-winning show "Marketplace". On television, Nyad appears on the prestigious CBS New Sunday Morning program.
Previously, Nyad was the Senior Correspondent for Fox Sports News (1996-2001), reporting live from such events as the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia. Prior to her stint at FOX, Nyad hosted foreign documentaries on OLN.
From 1989-1992, Nyad had her own show on CNBC, "One on One with Diana Nyad", where she garnered a reputation as a skilled interviewer.
While an announcer with ABCs Wide World of Sports (1980-1988), Nyad covered three Olympic Games, the New York City Marathon, the Ironman, and dozens of other events. Capitalizing on her background as an adventurer, she swam with 100 ton whales in Patagoni, kayaked over 40-foot waterfalls in Borneo, and biked the length of Vietnam.
Nyad has authored three books, "Other Shores", "Basic Training", and "The Keyshawn Johnson Story". She also writes for the New York Times, Newsweek and other publications. And she is fluent in French, German and Spanish
